Rubber expansion joints are flexible connectors fabricated of nature rubber or synthetic elastomers, steel ring and fabrics, and when necessary, metallic reinforcements provide stress relief in piping systems due to thermal and mechanical vibration and/or movements. ZHW® Rubber Expansion Joints provide relief from stresses caused by thermal expansion and contraction in pipelines. Movement is always experienced in piping systems due to varying ambient temperatures, differences in temperature of materials handled, and differences in composition. Expansion joints absorb this movement and eliminate the danger of buckling or pulling apart with the high replacement costs that would result.
ZHW ® Engineers can solve anticipated problems of vibration, noise, shock, corrosion, abrasion, stresses and space by incorporating rubber expansion joints into designed piping systems.
Description
ZHW Series MD602 is the most economical, full-pressure elastometric expansion joint available. These are the standard double sphere expansion joints consisting on high quality rubber body incorporating floating flanges in zinc plated carbon steel as a standard. They allow for axial compression or axial extension, and lateral deflection as well as angular movement. A variety of cover and tube elastomers are available, offering superior chemical, aging and temperature resistance from -30° to +250°F* operating.
Some of the notable features and benefits of the ZHW Series MD602 are:
- Superior noise and vibration control
- Easy Installation with Rotating Metallic Flanges
- Wide Range of Flange Materials Available
- Wide Range of Service and Lighter Weight
- Most economical flexible connector
- Large inventory means quick shipments
